Comments:  Seeing and transparency were only average, with some breeze.   M106 was discovered by Pierre Mechain in 1781.  It is receeding at 537 km/sec and is suspected of being a member of the Ursa Major cloud.  The galaxy to the left center of the photo is NGC4217 (mag 11.1). The galaxy NGC4248 (mag 12.6) is visible just below and left of M106.  The galaxy NGC4346 (mag 12.1) is visible at the upper right of the image.
