Comments:This was a reshoot of this region to adjust the framing slightly from the 2007 shot. Thunderstorms had gone through just before arriving at the darksite. Rain continued south very nicely. The wind even died down.

The Lagoon Nebula contains the cluster NGC 6530 on its east side (left in the image).  The apparent size of M8 corresponds to about 140 x 160 light years if the distance of 5,200 light years is correct. NGC 6559 is visible to the top left of the image and the globular cluster NGC 6544 to the lower left.
