Comments: While setting up the scope for a night of astrophotography I spotted what originally looked like a cloud to the north. About 45 minutes after that the "cloud" started showing great streamers. What a nice find on a beautiful night in the country. The complexity of the display really increased for a short time as seen above. I eventually did get to shoot a couple of deep sky objects that night. These shots were taken in Hinckley, Illinois about 55 miles west of Lake Michigan. The glow on the horizon is Dekalb, Illinois to the north.
