Comments:  M13, the great globular cluster in Hercules, is one of the most prominent and best known globulars in the Northern hemisphere.  It contains several hundred thousand stars.  Toward its center the stars are about 500 times more concentrated than in the solar neighborhood. Also easily visible in the picture is the galaxy NGC6207 to the lower right of M13. In the original IC4617 is visible between NGC6207 and M13. Toward the upper left of the image (visible in the original) are the galaxies NGC6196, NGC6197, and IC4614.
