Comments: The first shot was on one of a series of wonderfully clear and comfortable nights at the beginning of this September. The October shot was on a very clear, calm night in the 40s. The November shot was a bit more of a challenge. Although seeing and transparency were very good it was cold and breezy with a low in the low 20s. M31 is the famous Andromeda Galaxy, our nearest neighbor galaxy, forming the local group of galaxies together with its companions M32 and M110, and others. This galaxy is visible to the naked eye even under moderate conditions (it certainly was). M110 is visible to the lower left away from the center of M31 in the photo above. |
