Comments:  This night started out with some wind gusts over 10 mph, but about the time alignment was done the wind died down a bit.  Still the scope was a bit wind battered at times.  This cluster was possibly discovered by G. D. Cassini before 1711.  It was discovered independently by Messier in 1772.  M50 has an estimated population of about 200 stars in the main body.  The estimated age is about 78 million years.
