Comments: There was about a 60% moon out this evening. I decided to shoot only clusters. M56 is one of the less bright Messier globulars, especially lacking a bright core. The linear extension of the cluster is about 85 light years. The brightest stars in the cluster are about magnitude 13. It was discovered by Messier on January 23, 1779. |
